Column Chromatography

Science / Chemistry / Column Chromatography: Column chromatography is a method for separating mixtures. A solution containing the mixture is passed through a narrow tube packed with a stationary phase. Different substances in the mixture have different affinities for the stationary phase, and so move through the tube at different rates. This allows the substances in the mixture to be detected or collected separately as they reach the end of the tube.
