Life Style / Wine Grapes / Rabo De Ovelha: Variety used for white wine production throughout Portugal. Has many synonym names including Roupeiro, Alva, Codega. Also known as Rabigato that, under the alias name of Boal/Bual, is one of at least three other varieties used in the production of the fortified wines for which the island of Madeira is famous. On the mainland these varieties are used in several wine blends, including some in the Bucelas DOC, Extremadura region of Portugal where the Arinto grapewine is the main ingredient of a blend that also includes Esgana C?o grapewine.
