Life Style / Wine Grapes / Muscadelle: (a.k.a Muscadelle de Bordelais). Semi-classic grape grown in the Gaillac region of France, about 100 miles southeast of Bordeaux, and used in local white sweet wine blends. Incorrectly called Sauvignon Vert in California. Winemakers in the Rutherglen, N.E Victoria region of Australia use it to produce a superb sweet dessert wine known as 'Liqueur Tokay of Australia', the name being due to the mistaken early belief that the Tokaji wines of Hungary were made from this grape.
