Hopkins

Life Style / Wine Grapes / Hopkins: According to the USDA database, this T.V Munson developed (1905) variety was derived from a complex Cynthiana (lincecumii, aestivalis, labrusca) cross with the relatively obscure V.lincecumii Post Oak 2 variety. Some reports claim it makes a slightly superior red wine to the Norton variety. Does not flourish in lime-contaminated soils. The pedigree indicates a degree of possible resistance to Pierce's Disease.
