Is white-wine grape used to create the famous same name fresh, fruity young wines. Also known as (Green) Veltliner. Ripening around mid-late October, it is commonly consumed very young yet has very good ageing potential (up to 15 years) when made from the finest vintage year grapes. Noted for being compatible with a very wide range of european and asian food dishes in much the same manner as champagne.
