Life Style / Wine Grapes / Doreen: V.rotundifolia (ie. Muscadine) variety derived from a Higgins x Dixie cross. This bronze self-fertile variety, usually ripening in mid-season, is suitable for juice or sweet wine production because it can attain high brix (17%) sugar content. As usual with this species the fruit ripens variably over a season and dry-scarring is recommended. Successfully grown in the Gulf and Southeastern States of the U.S.A.
