Life Style / Wine Grapes / Canada: Variety developed by Charles Arnold of Paris, Ontario, Canada, around 1860. Is a sibling seedling of Brant, derived from a Clinton x Black St. Peter cross. The fruit ripens in mid-season or later, keeping quite well. Is not recommended for growing because of its high susceptibility to fungus diseases, although it is reported to be capable of producing a good red wine with pleasant bouquet.
