Life Style / Wine Grapes / Alexandreuli: Variety grown in Georgia, CIS (former Soviet Union). Reported by the Geilweilerhof database (see Foreword above) as a selected seedling of Muscat of Alexandria. Used to produce, using coarse filtering and pasteurizing, a semi-sweet, oxidized red wine known as 'Khvanchkara' (3-5% res. sugar), or as a medium bodied, semi-dry, chewy blend (with the Mudzhuretuli variety wine) having good acids and claimed to have aroma flavors reminiscent of pomegranates.
