Business / Taxes / Series 63: The Series 63 is a licensing examination that most states require for anyone who wants to sell securities within the state. Developed by the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA), the test covers state securities laws, known informally as Blue Sky laws, as reflected in the Uniform Securities Act as amended by NASAA. To sell securities anywhere in the United States, applicants must also pass the Series 6 (for a license to sell mutual funds and annuities) or Series 7 (for a license to sell all securities) administered by NASD.
